YOU CANNOT THINK JUST ONE NEGATIVE THOUGHT
Lay’s Potato
Chips had a commercial in which they bet you couldn’t eat just
one potato chip when you had a full bag in front of you. They
are right. One potato chip leads to another, and it’s easy to
eat the whole bag.
A different
commercial had a similar but slightly different message. It
said, “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing.”
Negative
thinking works the same way. You can’t think only one negative
thought. One negative thought leads to another, and soon
negative thoughts come at a furious pace, and a mountain of
negativity quickly piles up in your mind. Negativity overwhelms
you, and you feel disgust that you allowed all those negative
thoughts to get inside. You can’t believe you ate the whole
thing, one negative thought at a time.
Negative
thoughts are easy to eat, but once they are inside, they make
you sick. You need a strategy to stop negative thinking from
ruining your life.
