You are your own worse enemy when you take the path of conflict.  Your life is only a flicker, and in a moment, it’s gone.  You have so little time in which to live, and wasting any of that time on conflict is insane.

My life pales into insignificance as I review the course of recorded history.  The immense size and age of the physical universe makes me feel as if I am nothing.  I am only a speck of dust injected with life and briefly passing through time.  My life is too short to be filled with conflict and consumed with negative thoughts.  Since these two culprits usually travel hand in hand, I banish them both from my world.  I don’t want to give them any of my precious time. 

I keep a ten thousand-year-old Neolithic arrowhead in my pocket.  I found it in an ancient dried-up lakebed in the desert.  The last human to touch that arrowhead lived ten thousand years ago, and now he is gone.  That puts conflict in perspective.  Soon, I will be gone, and I won’t waste my time on conflict and negative thoughts.  I only have time for loving, living, and letting go.
