Resentful thoughts are covered in mental super glue.  Once I think them, they stick in my mind.  They seem to be written with indelible ink, and the more I struggle against them, the stronger they become.

Resentment is a form of mental toxic waste, and the most effective method of removing it is the opposite from what I would expect.  Instead of fighting against it, I must let it go.  Struggling dissipates my energy and wears me out.  Struggling makes me weaker.  When I stop struggling, letting go becomes possible.  Forgiveness is the way I let go.  I forgive myself for everything that I have done wrong, and I forgive everyone else as well.  When I forgive, my hands open, resentment falls like a big ugly lump on the ground, and instantly, I am free.

Love is the second part of toxic waste management.  Forgiveness releases the resentment, and love washes it away.  If I leave out love, it won’t be long before I pick up the resentment and place it back in my mind.  I send a massive dose of unconditional love to myself and to everyone I meet.  A double dose of forgiveness and love eliminates resentment from my life.
